Technology has made it possible for you to know if you are pregnant very early. This section is about all the choices you have for pregnancy testing. Here, you will also see the ways we are available to you for support and conversation about your results and your next steps, whether your test is positive or negative.

Northland's Pregnancy Test Choices
Here at Northland, we offer a variety of pregnancy tests. Most pregnancy tests are offered on a walk-in basis at all of our Centers. Results are quickly available. Call the Center nearest you for office hours. Locations and Maps
There are four methods of confirming a pregnancy. The right method depends on the amount of time since your last menstrual period.
No appointment is needed for these two tests:
- FREE Standard Urine Pregnancy Test is the best if you are at least two weeks late for your menstrual period.
- Early Urine Sensi-Test is best if you have not yet missed a period and suspect you may be pregnant. This test can detect pregnancy 10 days after conception. A small fee is charged for this test.
Appointments are needed for these 2 tests and there is a small charge. Call the Northland Center nearest you – very often, same-day appointments are available.
- Blood Tests are the most accurate pregnancy detection method and can be done even before a period is missed. An appointment is needed for a blood test and results are available 24 hours after the test is performed. A small fee is charged for this test.
- Ultra-Sound services , available by appointment, determine the length of pregnancy. There is a small charge for ultra-sound screening and, of course, the results are immediate.
Whether your test is positive or negative, reproductive health counselors are available to all our patients. Unbiased counseling and referrals to appropriate agencies or doctors are always provided free of charge.
What if I'm Pregnant?
For many women, this question brings different feelings at different times in our lives. Sometimes, we may be excited and planning and wishing for a baby, and we hope for a positive result. Other times, we are worried that our test result will be positive because we had not planned to be pregnant and do not see this as the right time in our lives to be pregnant.
We know if you are pregnant and do not want to be, you are going to make this pregnancy decision very thoughtfully. Like you, we know that each pregnancy is different and the choice you make will come from a loving heart and a clear head. You know your life situation best and will make the decision that is best for yourself, for those who already depend on you and for your future and your dreams.
We're here to support you in your decision making process.
More importantly, we trust you. If you are not ready to be pregnant right now, we offer accurate information, not scare tactics, about your options. We know if you are pregnant and want to be, you want to have a healthy baby. To make sure that happens for you, we will offer community referrals for doctors or agencies that can help you right away.
